The Fourth Age of Briomarea began in the year 729 at the end of the 12 year war with Borlak. The counting of years began at the beginning of the Second Age, but most of the history of the Second and Third ages was destroyed or lost in the war with Borlak.
A farmer by birth, a soldier by training, Gerallt Cadwalader became the general that lead the people of Briomarea in a bloody 12 year war to take back their lands. After centuries of suffering under the rule of Borlak, the planet to the north, Briomarea became a free world again. Known as Gerallt the Just, the new ruler carefully structured the government to balance power, protection, and freedom. So the Fourth Age of Briomarea began.
Five generations of Cadwaladers ruled and protected the land. As the free peoples worked to better themselves, Briomarea gained respect and a reputation as a land of wealth through the realms. Currently Osian Cadwalader rules, and when news reached him of the fall of the Arcanum he sent his daughter away to protect the royal line.
